They self-released their first Album Karioke Superstars in 2000 and the songs appeared in many movies like Kadet Kelly and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. They have grown out of their garage band phase and now tours all over the world, currently going to Texas, New Jersey and even Brazil. Although many of thier songs have hit number one here are the current top five songs by Superchick according to iTunes:
Stand in the Rain: Recently number one from their album Beauty From Pain 1.1,the song describes what someone shoud do when all else fails. The song tells the story of a young girl who has gone through alot in her life and is about to give up. Stand in the Rain encourages those who can't go on anymore to push through the pain and they will overcome the hurt and stand up for what you believe in no matter what the cost."It so easy when something horrible happens to just stay busy and jump into other relationships or drugs or alcohol. Sometimes to get through things, we must stand in the rain, experience them, dig deeper—you just have to go through it. Another song that we just released" Says Tricia Brock, Lead singer of the band.
We Live: "We Live", was inspired by a friend who was told he had cancer and only three weeks to live. He made calls to people, made amends, took care of all that stuff. Then he went back to the doctor and the cancer was gone. I hope that gives people a reminder that you don't have forever and that you need to live your life" Tricia Brock expresses. This song came first came out on the album Beauty From Pain and was put in stores in 2005.
Rock What You Got: This incredibly upbeat song was an accident when The band was at a store and a man in a wheelchair came up to them and said hello to them. the man was really comfortable in his own skin and they could see he was very confident and thought he was cool. Then Max Hsu blurted, "That guy is really rocking what he's got." and that is how the song came to be. The song expresses that people should be confident in who they are and happy with what they do and no matter what others say, everyone should be themselves and be proud.
Hero: in school, there is always the freak, the dork or the outcast that gets teased and even beat up. This song has three different stories in it and they are all powerful. The young boy that brings a gun to school because he is ridiculed, the teen girl that cannot take the pain anymore and the popular teen male that enjoys parties and drinking but forgets that his brother looks up to him. This song tells everyone that even the little things people do can make a big change in someone's life, that they can be a hero to someone.
Hey Hey: this last song was based on the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar who made an idol and told his people to bow down to it. Three men were thrown in the furnace because they said it was against their belief and they didn't die. This song is an anthem for those who have stood up for God and were beaten and abused because of it, for those who were not afraid of standing up for what they believed in.
Superchick's mission in life is to encourage kids to be themselves and follow God with all their heart. They know that there are alot of people out there that are depressed, drunk and suicidal and they want their songs to reach out to those who hurt. Recently Melissa Brock has sponsored tow african children from an organization called Compassion and Both Melissa and Tricia has joined Operation Beautiful, an oranization that encourages women and young girls that they are beautiful by sticking post-it notes on the mirrors of public bathrooms. Their recent album is now in stores called Reinvention with several brand new songs that lift up this generation.

The Real Sanctus Real.
This Holy Toledo originated band has gone through a lot to get where they are today, from marriage problems to fighting AIDS in Africa, Matt Hammitt and Chris Rohman in 1996 were still tenth graders at the Toledo Christian School when they first started their band. With drummer Mark Graalman and bassist Steve Goodrum, they were ready to show the world who they stood for. The band released three power pop albums from 1998 to 2001. Sanctus Real gives their fans “Honest music with a clear message.” Says Matt Hammitt. The band wants to let the young generation know that they are not alone in their struggles and times of trial. Sanctus Real came out with 2002's Say It Loud, which produced the most sales in the first week Sparrow Records has ever seen. Although the band loves traveling around the country they never forgot where they came from, just look at their band name, Sanctus is a Latin name for “Holy” and their aim is just that, they believe that holiness comes from faith in God and that is their goal with their songs is to be real with their listeners. They started without a record deal and kept traveling to different places and passing out Indie recorded CDs at GMA week just to get by. Eventually that CD fell into the hands of Sparrow Records and they signed a year later. Chris started playing guitar in Junior High and grew up with his father's music which was a lot of classic rock that inspired him to play guitar in the first place. Mark grew up with 80s hair bands and the year he got saved changed his musical point of view, he started to listen to U2, DC Talk and Switchfoot. Their record label decided to have a song on their album to help fight AIDS in Africa,”It was their idea to do this project of just a bunch of U2 cover songs and I think the original intention was to join with Bono and get behind fighting AIDS in Africa and eventually it evolved into a situation where we actually teamed up with World Vision and we're sponsoring a village in Africa that has been completely ravaged by AIDS at this point now [the record company] has just donated a ton of money to this village and of every CD that is sold, I believe it's 50 cents off each one goes to this village to support and sponsor them.” Matt Hammitt decided to write a song about his struggle in his marriage called “Lead Me” which pretty much told the story of what he went through,he felt like he was more of a singer than a father and husband and that he needed to lead them more than just writing songs. Sanctus Real has grown since their first release and continue to grow even now, going through life and writing about it and singing it to the world for those who need to hear God's voice.

Repressed Storage
I was finishing up my last stack of papers when a man with long brown hair and blue eyes came into my office. I welcomed him to sit and took a good look at him. This was the man that wanted to buy my storage lot. “What is your name Sir?”
“Mr. Shammah, Jehovah Shammah.”
“Interesting name, Why do you want my lot so badly?” No one knew what I stored in my vaults but me, if anyone knew what they held they would cringe. I was waiting for this man who ever he was to run screaming out of my office once I told him what I had.
“I collect repressed memories, it is my specialty.”
“How did you know I stored repressed memories here?”
“I do my research.” he smiled at me
Mr. Shammah said. I leaned back into my chair and sighed in relief. This man was actually interested in what I collected. It was kind of twisted to me that he collected repressed memories but I didn’t care. I was finally going to be free of this dastardly lot.
“Right, let us take a look then shall we?” I said getting up from my chair. We both left the office and walked around the lot for hours showing him the different sections and vaults in my lot. We entered the Anger section which held the creature Jealousy. I stood in front of the vault door and Jealousy roared and hissed like an angry cheetah. “This is Jealousy, Envy is over there and hatred is down the hallway. I wouldn’t come in here very often if I were you…there are many times that one of these creatures has busted out an attacked me.”
“I have seen worse.” He said.
We walked on to my Immorality section and there were cries of ecstasy and cat calling from the sexual immorality vault. “This is my Sexual Immorality vault, as you can hear by the calling, I have been here many times…they know me too well.”
“I have heard worse.”
Lastly I showed him my Guilt section and there were loud cries of sorrow and utter despair coming from all the vault doors. The cries were so loud I had to shout over them. “This is my Guilt section, this vault has accumulated and I have reduced to putting some in cages. You have Depression, Hurt, Sadness…And Despair is the loudest around here. There are many nights I have laid awake at night feeling the burden of the guilt. This section of the vault in particular is impenetrable, but they always seem to find a way out.”
“I have felt worse.” We both exited the vault.
“Who are you anyway sir?”
“Sarah, don’t you recognize me?”
“No…”
“Its me Jesus, your Savior.”
“But your name-“
“Jehovah Shammah, the one who is always present. Sarah I was there when you walked the halls of this wretched place. I have felt your pain, your guilt and your sorrow. You cried out to me one day to tell me that you couldn’t take it anymore…I am here to take this place away.”
I paused for a minute and then I knew he was telling me the truth. He was the one I had cried out to all these years of my life.
“Jesus? is it really you?” I embraced him wanting to never let go.
“Can I take this Lot off your hands My daughter? I promise you will never see it again.” I handed him the ring of keys from my pocket.
“Its all yours.”

My computer...
ugh! my computer almost crashed today. I thought I was having a good day today, I slept most of the day and found a stray cat near my apartment. then I go to my parents house for some internet time and first it started with the wireless capability which I never had a problem with, then it spread to my writing documents, one of my stories that I have been working on for a year now. and then it wont let me download open office which is a new and better version of the crappy windows writing software that came with it. Then to put the cherry on top I couldn’t get open my internet explorer! I just decided to save my story, the only thing I cared about on my computer on a disk and what do you know something turned out right! from now on I’m saving my stories on a disk and not on any stupid computer that I paid 400$ for. well. its time to go to bed hopefully tomorrow my computer will not make me cry again

The Silence
The town is so quiet
Silence is all I hear
No matter how loud I talk
I cannot fill the gap
Hello? Are you here? I ask God.
No reply I can hear
I wonder... Is everything okay?
I hope so...
Can anyone fil the silence?
Can you say something?
Are you here?
I feel alone...
"My child!" I hear.
"You do not listen." God says.
"Do not fear for I am with you always."
"Keep walking forI walk with you."
The words were like thunder
My eyes like candle light
in a window of hope
no longer is there silence.
Silence is all I hear
No matter how loud I talk
I cannot fill the gap

4 days
I'm staying silent for 4 days... whay you ask? because I hear the cries of the unborn who never had a chance to live. Never had a say, never had a voice...abortion is a genoside, you're killing innocent ppl, but even worse ur killing children... think back when you were a child, would you think it would be fair if someone killed you? If God knew they couldn't make a difference he wouldv'e never made them, quit killing them(government+moms)you're not just hurting them, ur hurting God. Stop! i'm begging you! let them live! ur hurting me! I've seen the pics of those killed children and its sick! and ppl support that evil and demented issue...My heart hurts for those who cannot see how serious this is and the children who never had a chance.
DO NOT SHOUT ME DOWN, I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE.
DO NOT SHOUT ME DOWN, I HAVE A RIGHT TO SPEAK JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE.
4 manly types.
I have noticed throughout my life there are 4 types of men, they all correspond to movie stars in the fifties and sicties. There's Dean Martin, he loves life and loves women and treats each one like a jewel.(I have a friend like that!)
there's Paul Lynde, sounds gay but isn't and is hilarious without even trying.(I have a friend like that)
ther's Frank Sinatra, a man classy and gentleman like but secretly full of himnself.
and finally there's Robert De'Niro, a man who tells you straight forward how he thinks of you in a way that is rude an funny which makes you want to be around him. Research these guys and you'll see how your man matches up with one of them.
